HELP BEAUTIFY TEMPLE U WITH ENGINEERS WITHOUT BORDERS

Join Engineers Without Borders (EWB) for their next local outreach event; they'll be working with EWB's Temple student chapter on a community garden in the Temple U community. Interested volunteers should wear comfortable clothes and close toed shoes that can get dirty.  Also, if anyone can bring flower seeds it would be much appreciated; a lot of the work is going to involve weeding, but they're also looking to beautify the garden with your help!

PEOPLE'S CLIMATE TOUR COMING TO PHILLY!

World leaders are coming to NYC  in September for a UN summit on the climate crisis to urge governments
to support a dramatic reduction of  greenhouse gas emissions.

To support this, a special event is happening in Philadelphia on August 23rd. The Philly stop of the People's Climate Tour will be an inspiring night of stories and lessons from local leaders involved in march planning, as well as a chance to get charged up for the fight ahead.

Philadelphia Speakers include:
•     Bill McKibben - author, educator, environmentalist, and co-founder of 350.org
•     Sandra Steingraber - Biologist, author of "Living Downstream" and science advisor for Americans Against Fracking
•     Rev. Yearwood - Minister, community activist, and President of the Hip Hop Caucus
•     Koreti Tiumalu - Pacific Climate Warrior Campaigner
•     Eva Wu - artivist, Norris Square Neighborhood Project & Young People's Just Transition Project
