Calling all volunteers to get involved in a mega tree planting party! Natural Lands Trust is planting 600 trees this fall at our 1,263-acre ChesLen Preserve, in an all-volunteer effort generously supported by TreeVitalize.
Large-scale tree planting is part of an important reforestation project in the southwest area of the preserve. Planting native trees is one of the best ways to support wildlife as well as minimize erosion, purify air, filter nutrients, capture stormwater runoff, and provide great spaces for people to enjoy! Natural Lands Trust is hosting a tree-planting party to plant 600 native tree saplings, including oak, maple, birch, and other species.
Volunteers meet and park along Kelsall Road, between Route 162 and Cannery Road – NOT at the Lenfest Center. This GPS address will get you close: 1251 Kelsall Road, Coatesville, PA. From there, continue half-mile south down Kelsall, and look for us. No experience necessary; instruction and tools will be provided. Suitable for ages 12+. Light snacks provided afterwards.
